How to Burn Body Fat

Guess what?  I have a secret for you.  Despite what the weight loss gurus will try to tell you, there is no magical secret to how to burn body fat.  There isn’t a special pill that you can take that will melt the pounds away, even though you wish there was!  No fancy machinery will automatically tighten up your legs and your stomach, and no miracle protein shake will make you drop four sizes overnight.  In order to learn how to burn body fat, you must take certain steps to get your body in prime conditioning.

Start Your Day with Exercise

As soon as you wake up in the morning, plan to do 30 minutes of cardio exercise. This will not only rev up your metabolism, but it will start your day in a “burn body fat” mode.  Many weight loss specialists advise you to start your day with exercise, but did you know there was actually a theory behind this? Simply doing a vigorous 30-minute walk in the morning will allow you to burn body fat that is stored in your fat stores from the previous day. This happens because as you slept during the night, your body uses up its carbohydrates stores to assist in body functions like breathing and regulating your heartbeat.

Burn Body Fat Stores vs. Food Intake

Your body burns carbohydrates and protein before it gets to the fat burning.  Since carbohydrate stores are the lowest in the morning when you wake up, if you were to do exercise soon after rising you would burn body fat, thus getting the best effect of your exercise.  With this in mind, it would be better to exercise before you eat breakfast, so that you burn body fat with your morning exercise instead of the carbohydrates that you’ve eaten with your breakfast.  Once you get into the habit of starting your day off with a nice body fat burning, incorporate a 3-4 nights a week of exercise to burn more.

Eating a Balanced Diet to Burn Body Fat

When you start with a well-balanced breakfast every day, you are awakening your sleeping metabolism and getting it prepared for the day.  The same way your alarm wakes you up to prepare for your day, you should wake up your metabolism by giving it some energy to burn, in the form of breakfast.  If your metabolism starts burning energy at 7 a.m. after a healthy breakfast, as opposed to 12 noon at lunchtime, you will have five more hours of energy burning during your day.  Also, it has been proven that people who skip breakfast take in more calories throughout the day to compensate.

Work It Out, All Day

The key to burning body fat is to keep a balance sheet of how much food you take in and how much you burn.  If you take in more calories than usual on any given day, you will need to exercise more.  Your goal should be to take in less fat and carbohydrates than you burn daily. To do this, you will need to do things that burn body fat.

Some simple ways to burn body fat include:

  • Parking your car further away from your office, shopping centers, or other places that you visit.
  • Take interval 10-minute brisk walks as time permits.
  • Dance!  Repeat your favorite line dance for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Join a gym and (actually) go 3-4 times a week.
  • Take a brisk 30-minute walk around your block at night.

Jumpstarting your day with a nice cardiac workout and then a healthy breakfast, will help you burn body fat daily.  Also, eating a well-balanced diet that is both low in carbohydrates and fat, and high in protein and fiber will help you burn body fat all day long.  Instead of searching for miracle cures, stick to the basics, and you’ll burn body fat without a problem!
