What you also need to know is you have to eat foods that can keep you full for a long time. 2. Eat smaller more frequent meals – not only is your metabolism boosted every time you eat something, your body is more able to efficiently process smaller meals. Instead of having 3 large meals in a day, try to break them up into 5 or 6 smaller meals spaced out every 2 – 3 hours.
3. Drink more water – Believe it or not, you can lose at least 7-10 extra pounds just by drinking enough water. How? When you don’t drink enough water, your body stores water inside, so as to meet any future water scarcity. Your body won’t hoard water like this if it feels that there is an abundance of water. To assure your body of this abundance, you should drink at least minimum of eight glasses of water daily! I have found that people managed to lose a minimum of seven pounds once they started drinking more water! Once your body gets water regularly, it will stop hoarding water and flush out any excess water that it has stored!
But this is not where the many benefits of water end. Water also boosts your metabolic rate, which helps you burn fat and lose weight. It also helps make you feel more full, preventing you from over eating. Drinking a glass of water before you eat your meal will help you eat only proper sized portions. Water also detoxifies your body. When your body has gotten rid of all the toxins, you will not only lose some more pounds, but also feel better!
4. Get More Active – Get up from the couch and stop watching TV. I know sometimes you just want to curl up on the couch and watch your favorite TV show. Yes that’s fine to do that every now and then but doing this daily will not help you lose weight. Most likely you’ll probably end up munching on snacks while doing this which is totally the opposite of what you want to do. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym but get your butt up and start being active. Go for a walk. You should walk fast but not so fast that you feel uncomfortable, you should get your heart rate up just a bit but you should never be out of breath. Walk for 45 minutes or do 2 thirty minutes sessions. Do not underestimate the power of walking (it may take a week or longer to begin seeing results but walking will increase your body’s metabolism).
Doing little things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Any time you can add in a little more physical activity, do it. Go up a couple flights of stairs at first and then add more flights after time when it becomes more easy for you. Any kind of exercise for 5 minutes like a few pushups, a few sit ups, a few jumping jacks, or a couple minutes of running in place all adds up to help you burn more calories.
